Need financing for your Philadelphia small business? The Grow Philadelphia Fund offers loans for equipment and goods up to $35,000 at competitive interest rates for eligible businesses. Then, did you know that you are entitled to an interpreter when using city services? Hello, this is your Opportunity Call from the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians for the month of May 2010. In this call, keep listening for announcements about obtaining a loan and financial help for crime victims.
First, do you want to get a small loan to start or expand a business? You should know about FINANTA, a local non-profit lender that offers flexible loans of $5,000 or more. FINANTA also offers mortgages and lines of credit. To find out more, call Kersy at 267-236-7000.
Next, did you know that victims of crimes involving more than $100 may be able to get money to cover their loss? You must have reported the crime to police within 3 days. People of any immigration status should consult a crime victim services agency to see if they are eligible. Services are offered in many languages. Call 215-551-3360.
And finally, a community service announcement: Have you heard of Sickle Cell Disease? This hereditary blood disease can affect people with Mediterranean, Southern European, Asian, and African backgrounds. Hello, this is your Opportunity Call from the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians for the month of April 2010. In this call, keep listening for announcements about free legal advice, a resource fair, and tax assistance.
First, the Empowerment Group is sponsoring a free Legal Overview for Small Businesses on Wednesday, April 21. Lawyers will answer your questions from 8 to 10 in the morning. Come to the DiBruno Brothers store at 1730 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia.
Also, the Empowerment Group is hosting a free Small Business Resource Fair on Wednesday, April 21 from 4 to 7 pm. You can meet with banks, insurance companies, and others. The Resource Fair will be held at the Free Library, Central Branch, 1900 Vine St., Philadelphia.
Also, the April 15th tax deadline is coming soon, and business owners can get free tax preparation help. If your business has annual revenues of less than $100,000, call the Campaign for Working Families at 215-851-1886.
Also, the Philadelphia Development Partnership is offering training on how to run a small business, including free business consulting. Classes begin on April 27th. The cost for the 10-week course is $95. Call Theo Thompson at 215-545-3100 extension 222.
