J-1 Trainee Program
The J-1 visa program is a way for young professionals to integrate into American society and explore U.S. business culture. It is also a personally rewarding experience that you will carry with you for the rest of your life.
In 2017, the U.S. State Department designated the Welcoming Center as a sponsor organization for J-1 Trainees. We are one of less than 100 such organizations nationwide.
Since 2014, our Global Access Soft Landing Program has hosted 27 companies and supervised over 15 J-1 Trainees and Interns. We have also partnered with other organizations and incubators as these companies have reached their next stage of development.
The Welcoming Center sponsors Trainees in the following categories:
1. Management, Business, Commence, and Finance
2. Public Administration and Law
3. Information Media and Communication
The Welcoming Center will work with you throughout the application process to ensure you identify the best host for your intended training program. We will also support you throughout your training program.
To see if you are eligible to become a J-1 Trainee, please consult the eligibility criteria on the State Department web site.
If you are eligible to become J-1 Trainee and would like to apply, please fill out this application form and our staff will get back to you.
