Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians Marks 16th Anniversary, Moves to New Space
March 11, 2019 – Philadelphia, PA – Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians marks its 16th Anniversary with a move to a new home! The organization, which promotes inclusive economic growth through immigrant integration, needed a new space for its expanded programming. President and CEO Peter Gonzales explains the move: “Over the years, we have evolved from a resource center that provided referrals to new immigrants for employment, language, and other services, to a more inclusive, diverse, and direct provider of innovative programs in workforce development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. Our new location is better suited to these services. Our staff will have plenty of space to work, and our clients will have plenty of space to access our services. The open, communal areas will enable us to host events to foster deeper engagement with the receiving community to help newcomers integrate and succeed here.”
As of March 18, the Welcoming Center will be located at 211 N 13th Street, 4th Floor, Philadelphia PA 19107. The site was selected for the usability of the space, as well as its central location, which is convenient to public transportation.
